Andy demonstrates bowl making, on the potters wheel at the Western Washington Fairgrounds, in the Artists In Action area of the Puyallup County Fair. The bowls were then donated to the Tacoma Metro Parks for their annual Empty Bowls fundraiser. Port Orchard Farmer's Market Watch We look forward to seeing you all at the Port Orchard Farmer's Market starting in April. Chicken Stuff 2011 has been a year of much learning for Andy and me. We have enjoyed helping many people get started with their own flocks. Thank you to all who purchased chickens from us this year! We appreciate the pictures and updates that many of you have sent to us. We have decided to cut out a few breeds and are adding the Black Stars which are a sexlinked breed that we can sex right at hatch like our Golden Stars. We are also doubling our Golden Star breeding stock this year since they have been sold out for many months. The breeds that we cut from our breeding programs for various reasons are: Blue, Black & Splash Ameraucanas Barnevelders Black Copper Marans Red Sussex Wheaton Marans I am looking for someone who wants to work on breeding the Red Sussex. I have some second generation Red Sussex that are better than the parent stock that I started from but need more work. It takes time, money, pen space, careful culling to develop or bring back these rare breeds. I just have too much going to continue with this breed. If you are interested in this project please give me a call. To see more about the breeds that we offer visit our Chicks page. | Raincreek Pottery is a studio pottery located in a rural section of Kitsap County, in the Pacific Northwest State of Washington, due west, across Puget Sound, from Seattle.
